On this page we address some common questions you may have about our services. We will continue to add to this list in our effort to educate our visitors. Don't hesitate to contact us with any other questions that you may have.
While we do not have a hard and fast rule about required company size, we find companies with 3+ employees and revenues in the range of $1M-$30M annually are typical candidates for our services. We are happy to have a conversation with any company that has a need, and if we are not the right fit, we will try to direct you to another resource or service provider.
We serve all industries. Most of our clients need business guidance more than help with an industry specific issue. We have a lot of experience in manufacturing, industrial (light and heavy), distribution, construction, logistics and business and professional services businesses. We are usually able to call on strategic partners in our network for assistance in a particular industry when needed.
As the saying goes, "you don't know what you don't know", so you may not know when you need us. We recommend reaching out if you have a desire to strenghten your business and financial management processes in your company, feel like you could benefit from an outside perspective from an experienced business professional, and/or have a strong desire to take your company to the next level. We will give you our honest feedback on how we can help you or not, and will always try to direct you to somebody to help you.
Our services are tailored to each client. We develop a proposal following the Complimentary Business Review & DIagnostic phase mentioned below. Fees are proposed on a client by client basis in function of a mutually agreed upon scope and work plan. We typcially work on a "not to exceed" fee basis with a capped time commitment to avoid any surprises with our clients.
As described in Our Process, we begin with an introductory discussion with the Business Owner. If it appears there are areas where we can be of help, we will conduct a Complimentary Business Diagnosis, and provide you with a report of our Findings & Recommendations . Other than some of your time and some information about your Company, there is no obligation on your part to receive the Business Review and related reports.
It depends on the nature of the services needed by the client. Most of our outsourced CFO Services work is spent working at your premises, working with you and your team. Oftentimes, we supplement the onsite work with some remote activities , depending on client needs. Our Value Builder Engagement Program can be provided remotely or onsite, or a combination of both.
In many cases, we serve our clients as a Trusted Business Advisor over a long period of time, with our involvement with the client going up and down over time depending on the needs of the Business Owner and demands of the business. Sometimes, we are called in for a very specific issue or project with a limited time duration.
While there is a Consulting Services Agreement signed by both parties at the outset of our business relationship, we do not typically have a contractual time requirement as part of our agreements. We operate under a trusted business relationship principle. Either party may terminate the relationship at any time.
Absolutely! We treat our relationship with our clients in the upmost confidence. We know that financial information and other company data are very senstive for private businesses. We are happy to sign a NDA/Confidentiality Agreement for our clients. We have a standard form we typcially use, but if you have something specific for your business, we can use it.
